UFMG´s Telehealth League (LITEL) is formed by university students from different fields of study and provides the students with a wide formation regarding teaching/learning, research and extension. The group contributes to improve the member's professional formation with benefits on health care, emphasizing the interdisciplinary work and projects development and solutions in Telehealth.

Associated to the League are teachers, professionals and important groups that research and develop projects on the field of Telehealth and Telemedicine in Brazil, aiming to broaden and promote this theme, building professionals and performing university extension activities. The goal is to expand the academic formation by developing projects to promote participation in conferences and scientific meetings, organizing events, additional training and also learning the principles of leadership and management skills and teamwork.

LITEL has its origin at the time where academics monitors were invited to work at CETES - Center of Technology in Health - in May 2006. They were supposed to work with their teachers Claudio de Souza (Surgery), Maria do Carmo de Barros Melo (Pediatrics) and Humberto José Alves (Morphology).

In November 2006 we had the officially foundation of LITEL at an event in UFMG. In that time, the Director of the Medical School were present, as well as others teachers, students and institutions representative.

LITEL is located at CETES, which is located on the sixth floor of the Medical Faculty, UFMG.
